Some resolution?

September 19, 2007 – Shelly Wolfe called back and advised:

  • Credit rating has been restored from 2 (Satisfactory) to 1 (Excellent)
  • Does not affect Credit Bureau rating. Only time this happens is when the account is closed and Enmax is trying to collect any outstanding amounts
  • Final Notice letter was sent out in error – the flag on accounts which had billing issues were lifted at the end of August and it was done system wide so ours was one of them. This generated the letter to be printed
  • Confirmed that payment of $422.09 was received and our balance is $0.00
  • Willing to put it all in writing and will send out to us when completed

Vivian,
Have you had anymore issues with Enmax?

We were thinking of switching to Enmax because their rates are cheaper and the EasyMax plan will let you out with a month's notice.

But I've been hearing some bad things about Enmax customer service and am a little nervous.

Would you at all recommend Enmax at this point?

Thanks!
John

Hi John,

After this time, we started to receive our bills and got the credits, etc. to our account. Keep in mind though, we just finished paying off the whopping bill in March of 2008 because it was so high by the time we received it.

Customer service as you can tell through Enmax isn't that great. They are great to put blame on their servers, networks, etc. but will not really take the time to look into your issues or get back to you in a timely manner.

Yes, EasyMax is cheaper but beware of what I went through and I have had others who have gone through it too. Be prepared if you're looking to switch that you'd be the one monitoring your bills to ensure accuracy (double check the rates & calculations, even the GST) and when you have a problem, really push them to resolve it.

I found that because I usually document everything (as you can tell from my blog), it really helped in the resolution process because the next time you called, it's like the first time you called. They tell you they logged it into your file but then they don't. Get names, id numbers, which call centre they are located at, what you talked about, phone numbers, everything.

Like all services and products nowadays, it's really buyer beware. Good luck!
